A story of love and tragedy, a metaphor of Albania's history as a whole! Perhaps the most beautiful part of this visit is to live the legend of how Rozafa castle was built to never fall, and after whom it was named. ! Inside the castle museum are artifacts that date back 4000 years, around the same time it is believed the castle Rozafa was built. A time that this land was ruled by Illyrians (early Albanians). It has since fallen many times in front of Roman Emperors and Ottoman invasion and as recently as the first world war. The castle stands on a hilltop, looking down on Shkodra City, and the valleys below. Inside the castle is built in layers that show how the destruction and building has evolved over thousands of years.

Built in 1773, Shkodra's Lead Mosque is a unique design for the time it was built outside Konstantinopolis. Its the las remaining building where ancient Ilirians' (Albanians)' settlements used to be.Β

Shkodra, surrounded by mountains on one side and on the shores of the largest lake in the Balkans on the other. The city is well known through history, since the time of the Illyrian (Ancient Albania) kingdoms. Visit of the city will start with downtown Shkodra, in the main promenade, famous for a delightful walk for which Shkodra is known. During the walk you can see the main sights of Shkodra including the Democracy Square, the many fountains and monuments in the city, etc. The people of Shkodra are famous for their love for arts, starting with photography and you can experience it at the Marubi Phototheque, where besides numerous photographs depicting Albanian culture and social life, there is also the oldest photo of Albania coming from 1858.
